Què hi trobarem?
En el programa conflueixen les arrels russes de la soprano Erika Baikoff, amb cançons de Rakhmàninov i del seu amic Nikolai Medtner –oblidat després de la II Guerra Mundial i avui, feliçment, recuperat al repertori– i també les nord-americanes, amb cançons de Samuel Barber. Hi trobem, a més, dues obres del repertori liederístic més canònic: el Liederkreis –amb poemes d'Eichendorff– de Schumann i An die ferne Geliebte de Beethoven.
L'obra destacada
Les Hermit Songs parteixen de textos escrits per monjos irlandesos a l'edat mitjana –d'amagat dels seus superiors– als marges dels fulls que copiaven o il·luminaven, on parlaven de les seves vivències: la solitud, la pietat, la feblesa humana o el contacte amb la natura. Posteriorment compilats i traduïts a l'anglès, Barber va triar-ne deu per al seu cicle, una mena de pelegrinatge que remet als grans cicles romàntics.

She is fast emerging as one of the most compelling lyric voices of her generation. An alumna of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Program, Opéra National de Lyon Studio, and Verbier Festival, she is a first prize winner of the Helmut Deutsch Liedwettbewerb and the Concours international de chant-piano Nadia et Lili Boulanger. From the 2025/26 season, she is a BBC New Generation Artist. A passionate recitalist, Baikoff appears at Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Heidelberg Festival, Schubertíada Villabertran, the Wiener Konzerthaus, or Lincoln Center. A member of the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble, we find among her roles Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Najade (Ariadne auf Naxos), and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel). On the concert stage, she performs Mozart’s Requiem, Ravel’s Shéhérazade, Mahler’s Fourth Symphony, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem.

At just 22, Roman Borisov has emerged as one of the most captivating voices of his generation. His musical journey began at the age of four with Mary Lebenzon at the Novosibirsk Conservatory, who mentored him until 2020. Early competition successes soon followed, along with a scholarship from the Spivakov Foundation. He was awarded first prize at the 2019 Krainev Youth Competition and at the 2022 Kissinger KlavierOlymp (as its youngest participant), among others. Since 2025, he has held a three-year residency in Potsdam’s Debut at Nikolaisaal series, encompassing solo, chamber, and orchestral projects. He has performed with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the Helsinki Philharmonic, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, working with conductors including Kent Nagano, Ariane Matiakh, Joseph Bastian, Nil Venditti, Howard Griffiths, and John Axelrod.
