Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 1986. He began piano lessons at age 7 and started to learn the double bass at age 12 at the Jesús Guridi music conservatory in Vitoria-Gasteiz. He joined the Euskadi Youth Orchestra at 16, becoming its youngest member, and made his solo debut in 2010 with the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra, interpreting Nino Rota’s Divertimento for double bass and orchestra. Ander Perrino is the first Spanish bassist to play with the Berlin Philharmonic, as well as the first Spanish string performer to become a member of the prestigious Orchester Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker. Since August 2013 he has been a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, earning a permanent spot in February 2015. He has been a double bass soloist with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin since March 2015.
