Gerold Huber studied piano with Friedemann Berger at the Musikhochschule in Munich and attended lied lessons with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Berlin. He received, together with Christian Gerhaher, the Pro Musicis International Award in 1998. Since 2013 he has been a lecturer in the field of lied at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg. He has been featured in renowned festivals and important concert halls, such as the Vienna Konzertverein, London’s Wigmore Hall and the Munich Opera, performing with Christian Gerhaher, Franz-Josef Selig, Mojca Erdmann, Diana Damrau, Ruth Ziesak, Maximilian Schmitt, Christiane Karg, Rolando Villazon and others. He is the artistic director of the Pollinger Tage Alter und Neuer Musik festival. His recordings with Christian Gerhaher, released by Sony Classic, have garnered various prizes, including the Gramophone 2015 Award for Nachtviolen.
