Artists

Ilker Arkayürek, tenor

Born in Istanbul and raised in Vienna, he has emerged as one of the most exciting and versatile vocal artists in recent years. Ilker has been a member of the studio of Zürich Opera (2009-2013), and a member of the ensemble of the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (2013-2015) and Staatstheater Nürnberg (2015-18). Recent successes include his Canadian Opera Company debut as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) with Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, and the role of Alfred (Die Fledermaus) at Musikverein Graz. Often described as having the gift of storytelling, Ilker is a passionate exponent of Lied. He has presented programmes at Edinburgh International Festival, Wigmore Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Schubertiade, Oper Frankfurt, Schubertíada Vilabertran, Life Victoria Barcelona, Hugo Wolf Academy Stuttgart or the Park Avenue Armory in New York, among other venues.

Inés López, mezzo

Nascuda en 1999, es va graduar a l'Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid (ESCM) el 2022 i hi va rebre el premi de l'Asociación de Amigos de la ESCM al Premio Fin de Carrera Lola Rodríguez Aragón. Ha estat guardonada també amb el 2n premi i el premi Nuevo Talento en el III Concurso Nacional de Canto “Ciudad de Albacete”, el Premio de Zarzuela en el XXXIX Concurso Internacional de Canto “Ciudad de Logroño” i el 2n Premi i el Premio de Zarzuela en el II Concurso Internacional de Canto “Alcalá de Henares”. Va ser finalista en el IX Concurso Internacional de Canto “Alfredo Kraus” i ha estat beneficiària de la beca Deutschlandstipendium. Actualment, realitza un màster d'òpera en la Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst de Stuttgart. En el terreny del lied, va ser seleccionada com LIFE New Artist pel Lied Festival Victoria de los Ángeles i col·labora sovint amb el pianista Jesús López Blanco.

James Baillieu, piano

Described by The Daily Telegraph as ‘in a class of his own’ James Baillieu is one of the leading song and chamber music pianists of his generation. He has given solo and chamber recitals throughout the world and collaborates with a wide range of singers, including Benjamin Appl, Jamie Barton, Ian Bostridge, Allan Clayton, Annette Dasch or Lise Davidsen. James Baillieu is a frequent guest at many of the world’s most distinguished music centers including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Vancouver Playhouse, Berlin Konzerthaus, Vienna Musikverein, Barbican Centre, Wiener Konzerthaus, Bozar Brussels, Pierre Boulez Saal, Cologne Philharmonie, and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. An innovative programmer, he has curated many song and chamber music festivals including series for the Brighton Festival, Wigmore Hall, BBC Radio 3 or Verbier Festival.

Jana Corominas, mezzosoprano

Jana Corominas, nascuda l’any 2002, és una mezzosoprano de Barcelona. Comença els seus estudis musicals als cinc anys seguint el mètode Suzuki i finalitza el grau professional de Cant amb Marisa Roca al Conservatori Professional del Liceu el 2020. El 2024 es gradua al Conservatori Superior del Liceu sota l’ensenyament del baríton Joan Martín Royo, amb qui, juntament amb Marta Pujol, actualment realitza el màster d’Interpretació de Cant en el mateix centre. Ha sigut finalista de la Salvat Beca Bach 2024. Ha complementat la seva formació de cant amb masterclasses i cursos amb grans professionals com Sophie Koch, Didier Laclau-Barrère, Emma Kirkby, Mireia Barrera, Marta Infante, Carmen Bustamante, Valerie Guillorit i Wolfram Rieger, entre d’altres.

Javier Perianes, piano

The international career of Javier Perianes has led him to perform in the most prestigious concert halls, with the world’s foremost orchestras, collaborating with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel, Yuri Temirkanov, Gianandrea Noseda, Simone Young, Juanjo Mena, Vladimir Jurowski, David Afkham or Daniel Harding. He frequently appears in recital across the globe and is also a natural and keen chamber musician, regularly collaborating with violist Tabea Zimmermann and the Quiroga Quartet. He has developed a diverse discography; his two last released albums are Jeux de Miroirs, which centres around Ravel’s Concerto in G recorded with Orchestre de Paris and Josep Pons, and Cantilena, together with Tabea Zimmerman, an album which is a celebration of music from Spanish and Latin America.
